Shew! We don't do lunch boxes, but we do have car food. Generally cheese and apples are are go-to for travel snacks. Wash up some good apples, slice some cheese, and viola, off you go!
It is hard to come up with "on the go" ideas for snacks and meals. I love your ideas!
Among my favorite lunchbox foods (usually for when we are on a family outing, since we don't need to do daily lunch boxes) are dehydrated or freeze-dried foods, at least in part because they keep so well. We dehydrate zucchini and greens to make "chips", we make ground beef jerky, and we make fruit leathers and dehydrate slices of fruit as well. I buy some freeze-dried foods from time to time, including organic peas and berries. All of them are simple to put into a lunch box and the chips add a satisfying crunch to a meal.
I have no tips at all, that's why I need this book! It feels as though I keep giving my son the same thing over and over again.
The only lunchbox packing experience I have is for my Fiance, kids are too small just yet. But as he operates machinery he needs quick easy to handle snack type foods, he takes fruit, cake and wraps. Felicity G
